As of March 3. 2014 we have made some really cool changes in our Take Down bows. We have added some extra security measures and reduced the number of models we are making.
Take Downs bows are great if you are going to go camping, hiking or
just want a bow that does not take much as much room. However,
Take Downs can be challenging and we are adapting our designs on the 5
models we currently making.
The instructions are basically the same yet with change in the
handles they are a bit different. The smaller handle makes it
easier to shoot but it take a little more pressure to put it together
and take it apart. Please see the instructions page if you need
We have added a small screw at the top of the handle which is part
of the assembly. I am including a instruction sheet with every
Take Down so you will know exactly what to do with the screw.
The purpose of the screw is to insure the bow is stable and the two
ends will not pop out. If you have any questions about this
matter please feel free to contact me.
The bow to the right of you is a take down bow which has been taken apart..
We sell many of these bows and several people have had a few problems with them so we want to provide you with a few instructions.
What we have decided to do is provide a little training on putting them together as well as stringing a take down recurved. We have had several people string them backwards and believe me they don't work very well if the sting is not on correctly.
We are going to provide these instructions in a pdf format so you can print them if you like.
The most important thing to remember is we are only a phone call away.
doesn't matter how simple the question might be we want you to give us
a call if you have any problems whatsoever with a take down bow.
The only question we can't answer is the one we never receive. Don't hesitate to write or call and we will address the question in a friendly, southern style, down home fashion..
Problems With A Squeaky take down
have heard from several customers about the noise the take down bows
are making. A squeaky take down can be annoying but as long as
the male limb is securely place in the female end it is ok. What
is happening is the plastic is rubbing again plastic making the
noise. You can put a little vaseline in the male end which MIGHT
help. I wish I had a solid answer for the problem but I
don't. I have tried the vaseline and it work a little but not
totally. What you can do if the noise is really bothering is glue
the ends together. Right now I am working on a new design for the
limbs which will help.
As of 11/12/2013 I am Changing
Handle Design on All Take Downs:
From the first I have wanted to make the handle on the take downs
smaller and not so bulky and I think I have the solutions. I have
found a way to make the handle conform to the hand with out all the
bulk. I have tested this method numerous times and it is working
